Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all dance! It is essential in learning proper dance technique/form and we recommend that all new dancers take ballet. Dancers in Intermediate Ballet are also required to take two additional classes.

Tap

Tap dance is a very musical form of dance in which the dancer taps out rhythms and intricate beats with their feet. Tap dancers are like percussionists with their tap shoes, drumming the floor with combinations of tap steps.

Jazz

Jazz is an upbeat and high energy style of dance taught and performed to jazz or popular dance music. Isolations, stylized steps, big jumps and turns are all a part of jazz dance. In order to take this class the dancer must also be enrolled in Ballet.

Celtic, famously known as Riverdance, originated in Ireland in the 18th century. This style is fast, fun, and always a crowd pleaser! In order to take this class the dancer must also be enrolled in Tap.

Lyrical is a blend of ballet and jazz. This style of dance focuses on the emotive quality of dance through music and takes its name from using a songs lyrics to interpret movement. In order to take this class the dancer must also be enrolled in Ballet.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is an exciting and hard hitting class filled with the latest popular dance steps and music. Hip Hop is an umbrella term as there are many styles and techniques of Hip Hop such as locking, funk, krump, house, and whacking. Students will get a taste of several styles and be able to use basic steps to create explosive Hip Hop moves and find their own unique style as a Hip Hop dancer.

Contemporary

Contemporary is a freer, more expressive and grounded style of movement that lifts the restriction from Ballet and has its own technique within it. In order to take this class the dancer must also be enrolled in Ballet.
